WASHINGTON SCULPTORS GROUP AND OXON HILL MANOR. FT. WASHINGTON, MD SEPTEMBER 2021

PAST & PRESENT

Riffing on the contrast between the landscape and the Neo-Georgian architecture of Oxon Hill Manor and its sleek contemporary neighbor, the MGM Casino, Past & Present explores the natural and built environments through the sculptures of Dan Droz, William Fillmore, Jim Gallucci, Ray Katz, Jean Kim, Addison Likins, Dalya Luttwak. Sharon McCullough, Judith Pratt, Paul Steinkoenig, and Ira Tattelman. Presenting a broad range of approach, imagery and style, all the way from organic and geometric abstraction to representation, the works feature a variety of store-bought and recycled materials to create a rich, multi-sensorial experience. By turn contemplative and playful, the exhibition at its core speak lyrically of reverence and resilience while encouraging a stronger bond with nature and a broader sense of community and hope.
