“REVIEW: WHICH YESTERDAY IS TOMORROW?”

Flashback to March 2020. I was eagerly anticipating the vernissage of “Which Yesterday is Tomorrow?” at Transformer Gallery in Washington, DC. But by mid-month, COVID-19 forced the gallery to shutter, and I started to wonder how I could bring this show to life. I decided to do a review based on what I could see from the storefront window and what I could access on the Internet. Although it was tough to write about an immersive, interactive show without actually being in the space, the endeavor led to hours of online research and even more hours of introspection and discovery, so in the end, the struggle was totally worth it. Not only did I get to know the wonderful artists, Dahlia Elsayed and Andrew Demirjian, but the gallery reopened just for the last the day, so I also got to experience their provocative show in the flesh!
